Who we are

Who are we?

Barcelona Voluntaria is a non-profit Youth association founded in September 1999. Its main objective is to enhance the participation of youth in voluntary, social and intercultural activities that serve as instruments for non-formal education. Until now, more than 200 volunteers have actively participated in the programs and activities of Barcelona Voluntaria.

We are members of:

  • Federació Catalana del Voluntariat Social (Catalan Federation of Social Volunteering)
  • Consell de la juventud de Barcelona (Barcelona Youth Council)
  • European network MOSAMED
  • International Association European MOSAIC
  • Anna Lindh Foundation

Context of the organization

Barcelona Voluntaria is a member of the “Federación Catalana del Voluntariado Social Catalán” (Catalan Federation of Social Volunteering) and of the “Consejo de la juventud de Barcelona” (Council of Youth of Barcelona) and is supported by:

- “Institut Català del Voluntariat” (Catalan Volunteering Institute)

- “Secretaria General de la Joventut” – “Generalitat de Catalunya” (General Secretary for Youth of the Local Government of Catalonia)

- “Ajuntament de Barcelona – Participació ciutadana” (City Hall of Barcelona – Civil Participation)

Barcelona Voluntaria maintains good relations with many instructions on local and on international level. The focus of our work is on administering and implementing projects in the Mediterranean area.
